Smoothie Recipes for Weight Loss: The secret is to use low GI fruits, no sugar and skim milk.

Losing weight can absolutely help to have less cellulite if you have a lot to lose. If you are skinny and have cellulite, a sugar free, low fat smoothie is still an ideal snack.

Smoothies and shakes with fruits sounds really good and healthy but you need to think twice where your smoothie is coming from.

If you are on a diet, smoothies offered by drive thru fast food chains are really off the limit.

Why?

Because of all the hidden sugar. You can pack on more weight than you think. Smoothies offered by ice-ream parlors can be a good choice especially if they list the ingredients and calories. Smoothies, shakes made by your health club is probably a good choice as well but it won’t hurt to ask about the ingredients.


Hidden sugars in smoothies

The "safest" way to have a smoothie is make it on your own. Then you know exactly what you put in, plus you can make it more milky or fruity according to your taste.

If you make your smoothies at home, you should use low fat yoghurt or milk and avoid sugar for good. If you want a sweeter taste, add a bit of honey, or if you want to be more strict, add sweeteners(xylitol, stevia).

Please avoid low fat ice-creams with it. If you really want to add ice-cream, it has to be sugar free.About Fruits:

Banana is absolutely not an ideal ingredient in any smoothie if you are trying to lose weight. Pick fruits that have lower GI if you want to have a shake. Berries, pineapple, kiwi is ideal.

Pureeing, preparing shakes, smoothies rises the GI level because your stomach needs less time to digest. Again, healthy shakes (without fat and sugar) are good for you but probably you will feel hungry faster than if you eat your berries and plain yoghurt separately. Interesting, isn’t it?

Pineapple-Peach Smoothie

Here is one of my favorite smoothie that has fairly low calories. Only two different kind of fruits are needed. Peaches (3-4 pieces) and 1 small pineapple. If you don’t have peaches, you can use 1 mango instead. Normally I add a teaspoon of honey, ¾ cups of low fat plain yoghurt and a small amount of skim milk (¼ cup). I really prefer my smoothies being more fruity. This amount serves 4
